| Nursing services: | Fill in for vacationing or sick nurse: Triage patients who are seeing
the provider, call in meds (with approval of NP), assist provider as
needed, possibly enter visit related info into database, give injections,
perform TB skin tests. We care for ONLY HIV+ patients, so the nurse
would need to be very comfortable with that. They will experience a
variety of patients from those who are academically educated as well
as educated about their disease process to those who are disenfranchised
socially with little to no resources. For someone who is interested
in this area of nursing we offer a great experience to gain knowledge
in addressing the many needs our patients have. We probably would not
be a good fit for someone who needs a lot of structure. We work by appointments
but do have patients that walk in having a crisis, so we try to see
them. |
