Camp Promise-West is Washington’s only camp for kids, teens, and adults with neuromuscular disorders. We have approximately 40 campers and 40 volunteer counselors and staff to help with their 24-hour care. The job of our camp nurse is to distribute meds to our campers and counselors (including insulin), provide first aid for any accidents or emergencies, and help with questions or maintenance of feeding tubes, catheters, or other medical equipment. When not actively working, we encourage you to be a part of our camp community and join us for our activities. Our goal this year is a medical staff of 2-3 nurses to share these responsibilities. This is our third year of camp and the enthusiasm for this program from our campers and volunteers could not be higher. We are free-of-charge to our campers and entirely volunteer-run, and are looking for a nurse to join our growing family. See pictures and learn more at camppromise.org. Our online application is available there as well. We are a program of the Jett Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to create new resources for families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy and find a cure for the disease.
RNs must be registered in the State of Washington, experience working with people with neuromuscular disorders or camps for people with special needs a plus, enthusiasm a must
