Cape CARES volunteers donate their time and resources to improve the lives of the poor and needy of Honduras. We send nine teams a year to three very remote locations where we provide free medical and dental services to people who have no access to ongoing medical treatment. In addition to physicians, dentists, dental hygienists, optometrists, chiropractors, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, medical and dental students, our volunteers include support people such as translators, educators, and drivers. People from all walks of life can be part of a Cape CARES team as long as they are thoughtful, caring, and ready to donate their time and expertise to help improve the lives of others. Cape CARES volunteers offer friendship and often develop a bond with the people in the villages of Honduras. Sometimes it takes only a smile or a hand on the shoulder of a sick or frightened person to tell him/her that we care..
