Nurses will serve in a rural village in Uganda where there is inadequate health care available. Our team serves along side a Kenyan Doctor who will train the nurses in common local ailments and conditions and treatment options. Nurses will examine patients, treat skin conditions, medical conditions, assess for referrals and make recommendations for referral related needs. When appropriate, they may also participate in HIV testing, vaccination administration, and provide basic health related trainings to locals who can then disseminate information on disease prevention.
Our organization will provide the nurses with interpreters, so there is no language requirement. We do not require nurses to have any specific certifications unless they are heading a mobile clinic and serving as the site leader. Please note that although our organization is faith based, we do not require our nurses or any volunteers to be Christian, and our medical services on the ground are medical in nature, without a faith agenda.
