We are a volunteer organization of physicians, nurses, and technicians providing comprehensive cardiac services to assists the country of Rwanda in building services, including cardiac surgical care. We are nurses in Cardiac ICU, Cardiac step-down, and OR. Nurses rotate shifts and may be asked to work 10-12 hour shifts. Nurses work with local staff to mento and teach as well as provide direct care at the bedside. Patients are young adults suffering from rheumatic heart disease, a disease of poverty and childhood, most ofer the results of untreated strep throats. Current nursing license, cardiac care experience, 2 years experience preferred. References requested. Must speak fluent English. French is helpful. Kinyarwandan is a plus!
