Hello my name is Sharon Beaudreau. I have been in the field of Nursing for over 30 years. I have worked for North Memorial Air Care as a Flight Nurse for the last 9 years. I work at a base in Northern Minnesota. I have always had a love for working with people and have worked in many different areas of Nursing. Each area has been rewarding and has contributed to the person and nurse I am today.
I will be going on my first mission trip to Uganda in August. I am very grateful to have this opportunity to serve others and contribute to making the small differences that add up to things that can have a significant impact for those who have so little. I cannot imagine living in an area where there is very little medical care and not being able to be seen or treated without having money up front. The small village we will be in is one of the poorest in Africa. I will be going with Hands of Action International. Our organization built a school and has a child sponsorship program for the children of this village. We will do a medical screening on all of the children as well as provide medical care for those in the community who would like to be seen.
My Faith is a big part of my life. I believe in hope and providing hope to those who have very little. I believe God has great plans for our team and me personally. I know his work will be done through all of us. I am so excited to get there!
I am so blessed to be supported for this trip from family and friends. Thank you to One Nurse At A Time for your generous scholarship. Through all of you I am able to go on this mission trip.
