Nursing services: | The mission of Camp Nejeda is to enhance the lives of children and teens with diabetes and their families by providing a fun and educational camping experience in a safe environment. We are a non profit camp for children with Type 1 diabetes in New Jersey. We are one of only 5 camps in the USA that all we do is camp for Diabetes. We are always looking for nurses to come to camp and be part of the Camp nejeda family. We usually use about 60 -70 nurses a summer. Nurses meet with campers for insulin delivery at each meal, snack, bedtime, and whenever else required, assist with pump site changes, work in the Health Center on “bumps and scrapes” duty, go on field trips with the campers, and become part of the camp community and the Camp Nejeda Family. Cabin nurses usually work at camp for one or two weeks and come from diverse professional and personal backgrounds. No experience in diabetes required, education provided by online videos and in person. |
