Double H Ranch is a part of the Hole In The Wall family of camps. (http://www.holeinthewallcamps.org). Hole in the Wall Camps are the world’s largest family of camps for children with serious illnesses and life threatening conditions. Children with cancer, sickle cell anemia, HIV/AIDS, and many other conditions come to Camp to experience the simple joys of childhood, without compromising any of their medical needs thanks to our high-quality medical care. To date, more than 114,000 children with serious illnesses from all 50 states and 32 countries have attended our Camps free of charge. We are a not-for-profit organization totally supported by charitable contributions. Hole in the Wall Camps are the dream of actor Paul Newman, who started the first camp in 1988 and has been the driving force ever since. Each of our 8 summer session we bring in 10 volunteer nurses to work with our campers. Nurses are matched up with a cabin of campers, they dispense routine meds for these campers and spend time PLAYING with them to monitor their health and wellness. Our “Body Shop” (infirmary) is staffed by nurses 24 hours a day to deal with any emergencies, volunteer nurses always have the support of these staff nurses. We also have 2 residential nurses who are at camp for the entire summer, these nurses are also resources for the volunteer nurses. Each week we have an on site physician who is available 24 hours a day.
