Nursing services: | The Friends of Barnabas Foundation (FOBF) sends 11 Mountain Medical Mission Teams to central Honduras each year. Teams travel from a central location to remote mountain villages to set up general health clinics. Physicians and nurses, along with translators and lay people, offer medical consultations and medicines to patients. Additionally, the clinics offer antiparasite medications and Vitamin A as well as eye glasses. Also, 3 to 4 times a year, FOBF sends surgical teams to Honduras to work in Honduran hospitals. These teams focus on cardiac, oral and maxillofacial, and neurological cases. Nurses serve as vital parts of the Mountain Medical Teams and also Surgical Teams. |
