Hands on Global primarily provides basic healthcare to underserved populations including refugee populations. Volunteer nurses will assist in providing basic healthcare in any number of capacities including taking vitals signs during triage, assisting with pharmacy, assisting in wound care, performing simple point of care lab testing, and being involved with education for the population and community being served.
One of our goals in choosing volunteers for our mission trips is to create a team dynamic that best suits the need of the people we’re working with. We are looking for nurses that are eager to learn and develop and are flexible and adaptive to different environments. We take both medical and non-medical volunteers for different positions within the trip plan and therefore would consider licensed nurses as well as nursing students for different positions within a trip.
