Nursing services: | Healing the Children’s Medical Teams Abroad Program sends teams of medical professionals overseas to provide on-site surgery and medical care for underserved children. These doctors and nurses volunteer their time and services, pay their own expenses and help arrange for shipments of donated supplies and equipment. The teams usually stay from 7 to 10 days, providing surgery for children as well as health screening and training for local medical providers. The types of surgery vary with each trip according to need and available resources. We partner with the health professionals, Ministry of Health, and /or hospital to coordinate each trip and identify the children in need of services. Each trip takes about nine months to faciliate through the leadership of volunteer team leaders and coordinators. |
