Nursing services: | Nurses are encouraged to cross train in other disciplines, so that when emergencies occur which do not need nursing skills, nurses may respond with other non-medical volunteers. MRC members are “2nd responders” meaning they are back up for the 1st responders and the public health system. Nurse participate in Emergency Dispensing Sites, Community Outreach Education, and Leadership Roles. |
Requirements: | Copy of nursing license (to be verified), CORI/SORI check (annual), MRC 101 (1-2 hours training), Incident Command System / National Incident Management System (3-4 hours training, online), Personal Preparedness (2 hour training) or FEMA-22 (online), Psychological First Aid (2-3 hours training) |
