I am 52 years old and have been a nurse for the past 6 years. My first career was in marketing/advertising and website management for a small accounting firm. I received my associates degree in nursing from County College of Morris and my BSN from the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown NJ. My first nursing position was with Overlook Hospital in Summit NJ where I worked on medical/surgical floor. I worked there for close to 5 years before I moved to Atlanta GA. Currently I work at Northside Hospital in the cardiac catheterization lab. I am ACLS certified and also a certified med/surg nurse.
This will be my second time going to Guatemala with Refuge International. I found the trip to be very rewarding and have kept in touch with many of the nurses, volunteers, and team leaders I met on the trip who will also be going back again to help out.
I have two children, 20 and 18, who are in college in Colorado and in Baltimore. I am an active outdoors person and enjoy skiing, running, and kayaking.
