My name is Sylvana Paternite and I am 27 years old. I have been working as a nurse for the last 5 years and just finished my Nurse Practitioner license 6 months ago. My journey started back in college when I was 21 and went to Malawi for the first time for a transcultural experience. I was so moved by the poverty I saw and the need that I knew that it would not be my last time in Africa. I came back changed and had a new found love for nursing and the ways it could help people in third world countries. I love serving with Circle Of Hope International in Malawi Africa because i have seen the change that has happened from us educating the Malawians over the last 6 years. I have had the privilege of serving there 5 times as well as other places in the world. My experiences changed me so much that I went on to become a Nurse Practitioner and now will be moving to the Middle East in August to work in a clinic to serve refugees for two years!
